UnASDG IGO and the Government of Burkina Faso were discussing the possible collaboration, during the UN Future Summit in New York on 24th September 2024.
The President, Senator Pat Meyer met with His Excellency S.E.M. Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, His Excellency Oumarou Ganou, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the United Nations, and their government experts during the UN Future Summit at the Permanent Mission of Burkina Faso in New York.
The topics of the meeting were the definition of the foundations, the conditions and the assessment of cooperation, as well as the steps to .
The aim is to assist Burkina Faso in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and its own National Development Plans (NDPs) and programmes by providing funding, innovative technologies and international experts to support and advise local developers and project partners.
The non-political role of the UnASDG IGO was expressly pointed out, as well as the fact that the cooperation is purely to support the goals and to provide crisis and disaster relief if necessary.
The last meeting between Senator Hans Pflanz, Vice President of the UnASDG IGO, and the government took place in Burkina Faso. Since the election, the parties have been discussing the possible cooperation and the most important needs of Burkina Faso in order to define the necessary projects and plans.
The UnASDG IGO and its affiliated money authority USD Mint are ready to support the people of Burkina Faso within the framework of the Standard Implementation and Funding Rules.
